Winter Wonderland

The stunning 18th-century coach house, Westport House grounds have been transformed into a beautiful, festive, magical atmosphere all complete with awe-inspiring decorations, trees, lights and snow! Westport House is well known as the home of Westport Adventure, one of Mayo’s most popular attractions, however, on the run up to Christmas people travel from far and wide to visit Westport’s Winter Wonderland.

Enter the grounds of Westport House through the quay, have a walk around the site, enjoy a hot beverage (tea, coffee, mulled wine) and a sweet treat (crepes) while spending time with those closest to you. From there you can make your way through the grounds of Westport House along the river, making your way into town where you can view the spectacular Christmas lights.

The festive feeling is here and Westport's Christmas lights are back and better than ever. Soak up the magic of Christmas and walk around the centre of Westport, visit the shops, grab a hot beverage and enjoy the best of what Westport has to offer. As the daylight appears to be waning quicker each day, the Christmas lights in the town have brought a lot of festive cheer. As some of the focal points in the town centre, the Octagon and the Clock are well lit, brightening up the town on these dark winter nights. From the Mall to the Quay, Westport’s Christmas lights are spreading a lot of joy and festive vibes.

The Railway Hotel Lights

Adding to the excitement of the holidays and the Westport's Christmas lights, The Railway Hotel has once again been lit up, bringing festive cheer to the well known building on the mall. A lot of work and effort has been put into this display and it's definitely worth a look when you are passing through the town.

Christmas Events in Westport

There are a number of fantastic events happening this year in the town hall. There will be musical performances, comedy, acting, puppet shows and much more.
